Tim Gobble, MD, CTropMed® earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University and trained in internal medicine in Portland, Oregon. During residency, he won a grant to procure handheld ultrasound machines and helped develop a focused cardiac ultrasound curriculum. He spent five years working in a rural African teaching hospital in southern Malawi, where he was an internal medicine consultant, staffed the heart clinic, and oversaw the hospital's radiology department. He continues to practice hospital medicine and has taught ultrasound skills to numerous clinicians, doctors, and trainees from around the world.
